BSHS Summer School

General Information for BSHS Students:

The South Middleton School District Remedial Summer School Program provides remediation for students in grades 9-12 who have failed curriculum courses during the present school year or in past years. Summer school will consist of online courses which are offered by Capital Area Online Learning Association (CAOLA). Students will be taking courses from home. Students are encouraged to use their own computer/laptop but if this is not possible, one will be provided for you.

This self-funded program attempts to meet the needs of as many students as possible to provide opportunities for them to get back on their normal academic track when they return to school in the fall.

Grading:

All final grades for summer school will be either a 70% if the course is passed or a "Failure" if the course is not passed. No grade higher than 70% will be given. This information will be forwarded to the student’s counselor and used accordingly. A letter will be sent home indicating the student’s final PASS/FAILURE status for each summer school course.

Scheduling Courses:

Every effort will be made to offer all courses that are listed below. Courses will be offered based on the availability of courses offered by CAOLA. Parents/students will be notified upon the completion of registration if a particular course cannot be offered.

Boiling Springs High School students with failing grades below 60% during the regular school year may not enroll in that course in summer school.
South Middleton School District students must attend the Boiling Springs Remedial Summer School Program as long as the failed course(s) are offered here. As summer school will be an online program, we may be able to offer a course not listed
