The to-do list that follows is a step by step list of what needs to be completed and turned in this week.

1. Watch this video of Mrs. Stahl doing a read aloud of The Ugly Duckling. Watch how she makes predictions before reading and while reading. Watch as she checks to see if her predictions were correct.

2. Look at the poster called Watch Your Step! in the Benchmark Reading app on Clever (under materials tab).Describe what is happening in the picture to an adult.Use the clues (evidence) in the picture and what you already know about in real life to make a prediction about what will happen next.

3.Choose one of the assigned Benchmark Literacy books to make predictions.

Tell an adult what you think the story will be about. Make predictions before reading by taking a picture walk and looking at the title. Use what you know in real life to help you make predictions.

As you read the book out loud continue to make predictions.

After reading, talk about if your predictions were correct.

4. Now, choose a different book from Benchmark Literacy. Use the graphic organizer to make predictions about the book you read. Before and After Reading Predictions Graphic Organizer.pdf

5. Watch this video about verbs from School House Rock.

6. Write your own paragraph about what you want to do this summer. Use the prompt given and include at least 5 verbs. Circle or highlight the verbs you used. You may write your paragraph on lined paper or use the paper provided here- Writing with lines-picture space.doc or writing with lines-picture space.pdf

7. Complete an i-Ready reading session each day.

8. Optional- Read or listen to books on EPIC!
